There is a familiar way to meet a hill town: arrive, climb, take the photograph, move on. Nothing is wrong with the photograph. But it cannot hold the whole experience of a place.

Stay Motovun begins with what happens afterwards. A room chosen for the way you want to live for a few days. A meal that does not have to fit between drives. An encounter with someone who makes, grows or welcomes here.

We do not believe every minute needs to be filled, or that every experience needs to be called a hidden gem. We believe a useful recommendation should tell you why it suits you, what it cannot promise and who to contact.
