How many nights should I spend in Motovun?

We suggest two nights for an arrival evening, one full day and a final morning. Three nights leave more space for the surrounding hill towns. This is our editorial recommendation, not a minimum stay rule.

Should I stay in the old town or below it?

Hotel Kaštel and Villa Borgo suit an old-town base. Roxanich offers a design-and-wine setting below the historic centre. Consider your preferred room, dining plans, mobility and transport, not only the view in a photograph.

Where should I park and leave my luggage?

Ask your accommodation for its current arrival instructions before driving uphill. Motovun Park publishes parking information and tariffs. Confirm the correct parking area, any shuttle or collection arrangements, and the final walk to your room.

Is Motovun suitable for travellers with reduced mobility?

Do not assume a step-free route through a historic hill town. Ask the host to confirm gradients, steps, lift access, drop-off points and bathroom suitability for your exact room. A general accessibility label is not enough for an individual need.

Can I book a truffle hunt or tasting on arrival?

Advance contact is the safer approach, especially when your dates or language are important. Ask the operator about availability, terrain, inclusions and weather arrangements. A suggestion in this guide does not reserve a place.

What changes with the season?

Daylight, weather, menus and business opening days affect your plans. Reconfirm activities and restaurants close to departure. Do not assume a specific truffle species, a harvest experience or warm terrace weather on your chosen dates.
